Self Care Ritual

It’s really important to look after yourself and ‘no’ taking time for yourself isn’t selfish. Filling your own cup up and doing things that light you up will make you feel more fulfilled, be in a better mood, have more patience and become the best version of yourself.

Self-care goes so much further than a bubble bath, but if a bath gives you peace and calm then it’s a great place to start. I love to have a bath and a bit of a pamper evening and I turn it into a little ritual. Start off by making sure the bathroom is clean and tidy. Clearing and storing any clutter in the bathroom, such as kid’s toys, shampoo, conditioner etc.

Fill your bathroom with beautiful scents, candles and soothing music to make it feel like a spa. Add your favourite scented bath foam, burn essential oils, light a scented candle. Place some glass lanterns and tealight holders around, so you light the candles and see them flickering whilst you’re in the bath.

I always use a bath caddy where I place my scented candle, a book and a cuppa or glass of wine (depending on my mood). I love to treat my skin to a face mask and take the time to unwind with a book or just simply listening to some relaxing music. When it’s time to get out, I make sure my room is relaxing by using soft lighting and carrying on the soothing music.

I love to have fresh sheets and pyjamas so you can get into bed all clean and fresh. I will spray a few spritz of ‘chamomile lavender’ pillow mist and add some drops of essential oil to my oil burner and place some crystals by my bed (all from my ‘Sleep Well Ritual Set’). Before getting an early night, I will sit and do 15 minutes of meditation and finish with some journaling.
